They create&nbsp;beautiful literary scarves, writing gloves, literary tees, and totes with your favorite authors and their works.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"mb-3\">Website: <a href=\"https:\/\/storiarts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/storiarts.com\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-3\">Instagram: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/storiarts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/storiarts\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Background<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/storiarts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">StoriArts<\/a> was looking to create Valentine&#8217;s Day-themed promotional mailers. They provided their logo in several formats and had a database of professional photographs to select from. The written content was minimal, instead, they chose to focus on the excellent product photography and the call to action.<\/p>\n<h2>Design Process<\/h2>\n<p>Understanding that they already have strong branding in place, I visited their website and social media pages to understand their design tendencies better. I selected similar fonts and colors (with a Valentine&#8217;s Day spin) and chose photographs that worked with the holiday theme, either in color or in content.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14185 size-full\" title=\"EDDM\u00ae Design - Front\" src=\"https:\/\/primoprint.onprintshop.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-front.jpg\" alt=\"EDDM\u00ae postcard desogn\" width=\"940\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primoprint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-front.jpg 940w, https:\/\/primoprint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-front-300x120.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primoprint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-front-768x308.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The layout for the back came together pretty quickly. I chose a sizeable asymmetrical grid to showcase their products and included their call to action as well as a coupon code.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14186 size-full\" title=\"EDDM\u00ae Postcard Design - Back\" src=\"https:\/\/primoprint.onprintshop.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-back.jpg\" alt=\"The back EDDM\u00ae design for StoriArts postcard\" width=\"940\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primoprint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-back.jpg 940w, https:\/\/primoprint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-back-300x120.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primoprint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/storiarts-eddm-back-768x308.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is relatively large, as the mailer&#8217;s goal is to drive recipients to the website to take advantage of the limited time offer. Initially, I incorporated a lot of white space, thinking the photos brought enough visual interest to the page.<\/p>\n<p>As I worked through it, the addition of color blocks made the whole design feel more cohesive and \u201ccozy,\u201d which I thought seemed appropriate for both the product and the overall mood. We opted to use one central image for the front, including a large logo, their slogan, and an abbreviated call to action.<\/p>\n<p>We were sure to have their contact info and some information about what they offer, but the heart of this piece is their product photography.
